Hello and welcome to this Bizmates words and phrases

And today's phrase is...

I'll keep you posted.

Don't you like that? I'll keep you posted.
You've probably heard of this before around you.

If you have foreigners working with you.

Ok, we will learn this today.
But first, let's do our test.

So imagine you're a working right now, OK.
And I come up to you and I say:

Uh... Excuse me, excuse me.

Can I talk to you for a minute?

What do you say?

Good, did you get that?

I'm in the middle of something right now.
That's right

I'm in the middle of something right now.

Okay.

So let's go on to today's phrase.

I'll keep you posted.

Very useful. Now this is what I often hear.
You know.

I'll say: OK, you know thanks for the update, Taro.

So Taro gives me lot of information, a lot of update.
You know.

And I say: Great, thank you Taro.

And he says: Okay, and I will give you an update sometimes.

You know, so he would give me an update
again and again in the future.

I understand what he wants to say.
He would give me an update when he gets new information.

But the sentence is a little bit long and doesn't feel natural.

What he could say is this.

Okay, thanks for the update, Taro.

And he'll say: Okay, I'll keep you posted.

Okay, I'll give you more information when they get new information.

I'll keep you posted.

This is a great phrase because you could use it,
to kind of end the conversation.

So imagine you're talking and I'm speaking too much.

You know and I say: Thanks for the update Taro,
I really appreciate it you know and....

You could say: Okay, okay, okay.
I will keep you posted.

And kind of walk away.

It's kinda like that ending a conversation phrase.
OK, OK. I'll keep you posted.

Really natural. Why don't you try that?
Turn, while you turn. I'll keep you posted.

OK, let's try one more time.

And we'll look at the pronunciation first.

I'll keepya, I'll keepya.

See that, I'll keepya posted.

I'll keepya posted. You try.

I'll keep you posted.

Very nice. So for homework.

Tell me,

What do you keep your boss posted on?
Do you keep him posted on new projects?

Do you keep him posted on the budget?

You tell me for next time.

Okay, we'll see you. Thank you.
