Hello everyone! Welcome to E-mail Picks. I hope everyone has made a fresh start for

the year. Here at Bizmates, we're feeling
very lucky because we're getting three

new employees very soon, so we're in
January and we're going to see new faces

at the office.
Sounds like a fresh start. Now today, I

need to make an internal announcement so
that everyone knows about the new hires

and that everyone will have a chance to
meet them because they'll be coming to

office tomorrow. Their actual start date
is not until the beginning of next week,

but they're coming to office just to say
'hi.' So in the e-mail I'm going to write

right now, I'm gonna ask everyone to be
nice to the newcomers. Of course everyone

will be nice, but we want to be super
nice because who is not nervous on their

first day at work, right? We want the
newcomers to feel at home as soon as

possible. Also, in this email, I'm going to
hint at a good conversation topic so

that everyone will have have an idea of
what to talk about with the newcomers

and they'll get to know each other very
quickly. Okay? So here's my e-mail:

Hello all, I am proud to announce that three
amazing new hires will be joining us

starting next week. As part of a brief
visit to the office before the group

starts working, they will be stopping by
at each department after lunch tomorrow.

As this will be their first time at the
office and it is likely that they will

be nervous, please give them an extra
warm welcome. All three have interesting

backgrounds I'm sure you will want to
ask about when you meet them. Best, Kyota.

Alright, so I used that very common
phrase you use when you make

announcements: "I am proud to announce..." and then in the second

paragraph, I explained that we'll be
having visitors tomorrow and asked

everyone to give them a warm welcome.
Finally, in the last sentence, I hinted

everyone that asking about the newcomers' background will lead to fun

conversations. My sentences are all in a
pretty formal form because this is an

e-mail announcement, but some of the word
choices I made are rather casual like

amazing, new hires, and extra warm welcome
because this is... this is happy news and I

wanted to keep the message positive and
upbeat. So anyway, that's my e-mail. I hope

this example helps you in some way in
the future. Alright, so thanks for

watching again and I'll see you next
week.
