Hello, everyone, Justin here and we are

back with this week's Bizmates for

beginners video lesson. And this week,

everyone we are going to learn
"swamped."

OK so what does it mean? Let's find out

but first let's see if all of you could

remember last week's expression.

OK, so imagine I ask you:

Hey, you know Hika?

Yeah, what do you think of him?
How do you

respond? You've got five seconds, okay?
Go.

Alright, time is up.

If you said "yeah, he cracks me up"

then nice job and thanks for remembering the expression.

OK, everyone so this week:
"swamped."

Now this is what I sometimes hear:

Alright, I'm talking to my good friend and

colleague, Taro, and I'm a little bit hungry.

It's around 12 - 12:30, so I say:
Hey, Taro!

Do you have time for lunch?
And Taro, he says

Sorry, I have much work.

OK, well Taro is always working very

hard, so I understand and his English is

very good
"I have much work."

Nice grammar, no problem but let's jazz

up, let's give his English a little bit

more punch.

So he can say... that's right

Sorry, I'm swamped with work.

OK, so if you are "swamped"

it means you're really, really busy, okay?

But if you want to add some more detail...

so let's imagine you have a lot of

emails -- you're really, really busy with

emails -- you can say:
Sorry, I'm swamped

with emails. I'm really busy with

lots of emails, okay?
Or if you have a lot

of projects that you're working on,

so you say

I'm sorry I'm swamped with projects. Okay?

So it's a very natural expression, so

please use it in your daily conversation.

So the pronunciation is just as you see

it here,

nothing special, so please repeat after me, okay?

Sorry, I'm swamped with work.

Your turn. Excellent! Alright so after my

question:
Do you have time for lunch?

OK, I understand you're so busy.

That's OK, maybe next time.

Alright, everyone so please remember this for our

review next week.

OK, so our bonus question this week is

another way to say: "Don't give up."

OK, if you know the answer, leave it in

the comments. If you don't, see if you can

find it in one of our previous Bizmates

for beginners videos.

OK, everyone so that is it for me this week.

Thank you so much for watching. Enjoy

your weekend, I'll see you next Friday.
