ついついお酒を飲みすぎて酔いつぶれてしまうことってありませんか。
今回はそんな場面で使える表現を紹介します。

例えば、ヒカは同僚のタロウとタケシとお酒を飲んでいます。ところが気付けばタケシの姿が見当たりません。
“Where’s Takeshi?”「タケシはどこ？」とヒカはタロウに聞きました。
「酔いつぶれちゃったよ。」と返答したい場合、あなたがタロウなら英語で何と言いますか？

“He is sleeping very deeply.”「深く眠っています。」
でも伝わるかもしれませんが、より自然な表現があります。

そこで、
“He’s passed out.”「酔いつぶれちゃったよ。」
と言ってみましょう。自然な表現です。

to today's idiom. Pass out. So

here's what I sometimes hear. Okay

so let's imagine that Taro, Takeshi

and I, the three of us are drinking
at an izakaya.

and we're all really drunk, okay.

And suddenly, Takeshi is missing. So

I say to Taro: "Where's Takeshi? Where
is he?"

And Taro says: "Yeah, he's

sleeping very deeply in the washroom."

Okay, or "in the corner." He's sleeping
very deeply.

Okay, it's a little bit strange. "Sleep
very deeply."

We don't really say that. Maybe a deep sleep,

we can say, but sleep deeply is a little
strange.

So a more natural way to say this

is like this -- so I say: "Where's Takeshi?"

And Taro says: "He's passed out in
the corner."

Passed out. Okay?

it doesn't... usually when they're drunk
and

they're sleeping like, you know,

very deep. They have a deep sleep. You
could say they're passed out.

Great idiom, okay. Very natural.
