Hello everyone, welcome to E-mail Picks.
We're in December now and I'm guessing

some of you already have a few year-end
parties scheduled on your calendars. Our

Japan team is having one too, later this
month. So, today I'm writing an e-mail to

all my colleagues to ask if they can
come. Now, I need to know how many people

can come as soon as possible because,
as I can imagine, it's getting harder to

reserve a place every day as we speak,
so in this e-mail I'm gonna ask everyone

to RSVP. "RSVP" is originally a French
phrase: réspondez s'il vous plaît, which

means "please reply."
So if I write RSVP by Friday, it means

please reply to tell me if you can come
or you cannot come by Friday. So let's see

what that e-mail looks like: Hello,
colleagues. As the year draws to a close,

we are planning our annual year-end
party, hoping to spend a wondrous magical

evening with the amazing Bizmates crew
on December 21st 7PM onwards. We need

to reserve a place where all of us can
fit as soon as possible and we

understand some of you will be out of
town to see your family then, so please

RSVP by the 8th. I hope you find beer in
izakaya wondrous and magical. Kyota.

So let's see what I've written here. In
the first sentence, I'm letting everyone

know the date and time. Very simple, and
I'm also trying to make the party sound

exciting by using words like "wondrous
and magical" -- I was watching a Disney

movie with my son last night. And, in the
second sentence, I'm asking everyone to

RSVP and of course, I wrote the reason.
And, finally in the final sentence, I'm

just making it clear that it will be
just a regular year-end party, so that

nobody will come over-dressed or
anything. So there's my invitation,

hopefully we'll see many people at the
party. So that's it for today, thank you

for watching as always, and I'll see you
next week. See you later.
