health check on the same day at the same

different days, but we both took a
stomach x-ray exam for the first time in

with bars and you turn your body around

the nurse was speaking into a microphone
with a very cheerful voice when she was
giving instructions to me she was saying
things like "OK, next turn your body to
the right... you can do better than that
more to the right please. OK, breathe in
hold it... OK, next put your belly on the
plate. Your shoulders too please - your
shoulders - OK, ready breathe in, hold
it... Alright, next I'm going to turn your
body upside down so hold on to the bars
OK? Hold on tight. OK, next..." See she was
talking like this the whole time. I've
never had aerobics class before but I
thought she was like an aerobics
instructor and I understood why aerobics was
so popular to some people. So, I was
telling all this to Justin and he said
"Yeah, I thought so too" and he also said
"You know I also enjoyed drinking the
barium. It actually tasted good.
It tasted something like some kind of
sports drink or yogurt. Didn't you think
so, Kyota?" and I said no. So, anyway this
year maybe the health check will be a
little more fun because I'll have
someone to talk with like this. So now
I'm going to write an e-mail to Justin to
set the
place to meet up before we go to the
clinic together. Now in this e-mail I need
to be a little specific because I want
to make sure the time and place are
crystal clear. OK, so here goes...
Hi, Justin.
So, as you might have heard already, we're
getting a health check together tomorrow.
Let's meet up at Nihonbashi station
around ten before 10:00. If you come
out of the B3 exit, you'll see a big
book store. Why don't we find each other
on the first floor? The store should be
open by 10:00. The clinic is a 5-minute
walk from there. Don't get too excited
about the barium drink. See you there.
Kyota. OK, so in this first sentence I'm
just making the topic of the e-mail clear
and in the next paragraph I'm being
careful not to use too many numbers
because if I do, it will look like this...
and this will be a little too confusing.
So, I expressed some of the numbers in
words. And finally, I close the e-mail by
making a little fun of him. "Don't get too
excited about..." is a pretty
common phrase to use to make fun of
people. So there you go, a simple e-mail to
set the time and place to meet up.
