Hello everyone and welcome to this week's
Bizmates for Beginners video lesson.

Thanks for watching as always everyone.

And this week, we are going to learn the expression

"pumped."

OK, so what does "pumped" mean?
Let's find out in our video lesson today

everyone, but do you remember last week's class?

Well, hopefully you do because we are
going to do a quick review

of last week's expression.

OK everyone, so imagine I asked you:

Now that you finished the big project, what's next?

And of course because you worked so hard

you want to take a nice, long vacation.
You want to relax.

So, what do you say? I'll give you five seconds, OK?

Are you ready? Alright, go!

And time is up, everyone. If you said

"I think I need some R & R!"

then that's exactly right. Good job and thank you for remembering last week's expression.

OK, so moving on to "pumped."
Now this is what I sometimes hear

OK, so Taro and I, we joined a
company baseball team, alright?

So on the weekend, sometimes we
play against other teams, alright?

So it's our first baseball game, alright?

And I say to Taro:
It's our first baseball game against

another company. Are you ready to play?
Are you ready to win?

And Taro, he says:
Yes! I'm excited!

Alright, good! I'm glad to hear that, Taro.
I am also very excited but

in this situation -- in this context, we can use
something a little bit more natural

a little bit more fitting for this situation, and that is...

Yes, that's right.
Yeah! I'm pumped!

Alright, so whenever you are really excited

for something. Whenever you feel that adrenaline coming into your body and you're ready to go

you're pumped, okay? Not just excited,
you're pumped, OK?

So, also one more small thing, Taro said "Yes, I'm excited"

and that's a little bit stiff, you know.
A little bit unnatural in this

sort of situation, so if you said

"Yeah!" that's a little bit more natural. You'll hear that a lot

when speaking to native English speakers.

"Yeah" instead of "yes" OK?
So, "Yeah! I'm pumped!"

Alright, everyone?
OK, pronunciation -- very simple

it's as you see it here. Pumped. Okay?
Pumped.

Alright please repeat after me:
I'm pumped! Your turn.

Alright, very good. Now after my question:
So...

Are you ready to play?
Are you ready to win?

OK good to hear it, you're pumped.

Alright, so please remember this for next time, OK everyone?

Alright, so our bonus question this week is another way to say:

"I'm fine, thank you."
So if someone says "hi, how are you?"

You can say this, or

you can use something a little bit more natural.

If you know what the answer is,
everyone leave it in the comments

below, OK? If you don't, you can find it in one of our previous

Bizmates for Beginners video lessons. Okay,

And that is it for this week, everyone.
Thank you so much for watching

have a great weekend, and
I'll see you next time. Thank you.
